Community Collaborative Art Projects in Adelaide

Bring people together through a collaborative art project!

I work with community groups and organisations in Adelaide to create colourful, inclusive artworks using my Pattern Play Collaborative Art method.

With over 60 projects and more than 2,000 participants behind me, I have developed a guided process that enables people of different ages and abilities to contribute to a shared artwork.

From community programs and group activities to artworks created for your organisation, I can help you plan a collaborative art project that brings people together through creativity.

Choose your collaborative art project

I offer several ways for groups to create artwork together, from guided community painting projects to larger murals and commissioned artworks.

1. Community collaborative art project

A shared creative experience for your community.

Bring your group together over a series of guided painting sessions, building a colourful collaborative artwork through the Pattern Play method.

Everyone contributes at their own level, with simple steps that make the process accessible to people with different abilities and experience.

Your project includes:

  • Three guided art sessions
  • A structured, inclusive painting process guided by the Pattern Play stages
  • All art materials and equipment
  • Project preparation, setup and pack-up
  • A completed collaborative artwork created by your group

Project investment: $4,000

Suitable for community organisations, disability groups and other organisations wanting to bring people together through a shared creative experience.

2. Group collaborative murals

Create a mural together, one mark and pattern at a time.

A collaborative mural gives your group the opportunity to contribute to an artwork that becomes part of your shared environment.

Using my Pattern Play method, participants work through a series of guided stages to build the artwork together. My small-scale mural approach is designed for safe, floor-level work without ladders or steps.

Your project includes:

  • Four guided mural sessions
  • Planning and design for your group and setting
  • A guided, inclusive painting process
  • Paints, equipment and materials, with preparation and setup
  • A finished collaborative mural

Wall repairs and specialised surface preparation may need to be arranged separately, depending on the condition and type of surface. Optional graffiti-proofing can also be discussed when planning your mural.

Project investment: $4,000–$8,000

The final price depends on the size, scope and requirements of your project.

Note: This link focuses on school murals, but the process and information also apply to collaborative mural projects with community groups.

3. Commissioned collaborative art projects

Have a particular idea or community goal in mind?

Some projects call for a more tailored approach. I can work with organisations to develop a collaborative art project around a particular theme, event, space or community initiative.

Projects might involve painted panels, fabric banners, exhibition activities or other shared artworks suited to your participants and setting.

We’ll discuss your goals, the people involved and the desired outcome before developing a project proposal and quote.

Pricing: Custom quote based on the project brief and scope.

How Pattern Play collaborative art works

My Pattern Play method breaks collaborative painting into three main stages:

Messy Playing: Participants explore colour, shapes and marks using simple, accessible techniques.

Exploring: Patterns and clusters build across the artwork in layers, creating connections between everyone’s contributions.

Bling!: Participants add finishing details that bring the artwork together and make it shine.

The process gives everyone a way to participate, regardless of their previous painting experience. The artwork develops through the group’s combined contributions, with guidance at each stage.

I’ve facilitated collaborative art projects with schools, disability groups, community participants and people of different ages and abilities.

Each project is different, shaped by the people involved, the setting and the purpose of the artwork.
